28/10/2009 - Fire Authority Appoints New Deputy Chairman Wendy Meikle
On behalf of Greater Manchester's Fire and Rescue Authority, the Chairman Cllr James Pearson and Vice-Chairman Cllr Paul Shannon are pleased to announce that Cllr Wendy Meikle has been appointed as the new Deputy Chairman of Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Authority.

01/06/2008 - Offerton Park Parish Council's Project Champion for Leisure
We need more play equipment for all ages. This Teen Shelter was the only piece of equipment that we had on Offerton Estate for the young people, when residents want them moving on maybe they should think about where we can move them to . The shelter is seen during an operation to clean up the estate, the graffitti was painted over.I successfully bid for funding to enable us to have the Multi Games equipment put on the same piece of land where the Teen shelter is, we are hoping to have the new signage for the 'OFFERTON PARISH PARK' in place for the Parish Summer Event which will take place on Sunday July 6th from 2pm till 4pm. Part of the bid for funding enabled us to replace the younger childrens park on Blackstone Road, and again this is only the begining, I am hoping that we will have play equipment for all ages within the near future.

31/05/2008 - Recycle More
I simply cannot imagine life without the glass, can and paper recycling facilities. I am amazed at the amount of packaging that we throw away and also the plastic milk and drink bottles that fill the blue bags.We trialed the food caddy, again this raised my awareness as to just how little of the waste that goes into the blue bags comes from the food we eat.

31/05/2008 - No to Congestion Charging
Motorists and businesses will feel the impact of congestion charges, forcing some businesses to close. If we had a more reliable and more superior public transport that was affordable we would reduce the amount of traffic. parking is always an expensive problem I think a service which is accessable , reliable and affordable would be well used.
